Executive Recruiters Confident

As we reported recently, our survey of 1226 job seekers revealed optimism for an improving job market in the latter stages of 2010.

This ties in with what recruiters are thinking in 2010, as executive recruiters are showing renewed levels of confidence.

According to new research from the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the vast majority (91%) of executive recruiters hold a neutral to positive outlook for the executive search business in 2010. Over three quarters (77%) expect revenues to increase this year, and over half are planning to recruit more consultants this year.

Peter Felix, President, AESC, said that the research demonstrated that the executive hiring market has turned a corner. Those involved in the research believe that the Healthcare/Life Sciences and Energy/Natural Resources industries will see the most amount of growth this year.

The research encompasses the opinions of 268 executive search consultants worldwide.

The job market is increasing slightly and the average time spent out of work is approximately 6 months but less pay is being asked for and therefore still the right skills for the right job are not being sought.

I havent been working because I have been studying to improve my chances of finding a job. Before I started my studying I had filled out several application forms with no luck. I feel now that the country is coming out of recession i will have a much better chance of finding a job.

searching for a job since 2-2-2009 position sought after engineer electrical and mechanical.applied to hundreds of position got to 2nd iterview on 3 occasions very poor. The employers have taken full advantage of this situation advertising positions then sifting through hundreds of applicnts shrt listing over qaulified persons e.g 26k pa electrician need job went to someone with HND qaulifacation with this qaulifacation you would start at 45k+.agencies have no work.so are things going to pick up NO.

Naturally these guys have not been through a recession before.
Just because things went up 0.01% does not mean the recession is over, there are a lot of job losses to happen and a lot of economical baggage that needs to be dealt with.

I like their optimism however, this is like dying of thirst and seeing a mirage.

Even Mervyn King the Governor of the bank of England last week stated it would be up to 2 years before a full correction happened I am inclined to agree.

Wishful thinking does not always make it so.

I am dating Halle Berry............. No I'm not.

Research is one thing, Practicality is another.

I like their outlook but it will take a little longer, there are a lot of factors that need to be dealt with, yes confidence is better but like and earthquake there are the aftershock that have to be endured.

I have not noticed a turnaround. I am currently working for the NHS, they are about to impose a recruitment ban and need to cut costs further.

Generally, I have noticed that there is a drop is salaries offered for jobs in the private sector. High level PA jobs used to be offered at approximately £25-28k, but they are now being advertised at approximately £20k!!

If their research is proved to be true then it won't be a hype as suggested but I think it is yet too early to jump to conclusions now.

Things still appear to be a little slow in the UK, hopefully things will start picking up soon.
